Geographical and stratigraphical distribution of corals and coraly reef in the Central Iran (Kerman, Ardakan, Anarak, Khur, Isfahan, Kashan, and Tabas regions) and Alborz were studied. These corals are rugose and Tabulate, and in the Sibzar, Bahram, Shishtu, Geirud, Khoshyylagh and Ilangharah Formations accompanying brachiopods, conodonts, stromatoporids, crinoids and mollusca. The rugose and Tabulate corals in the most regions form patch reefs, and in the a few regions (e. g. Hojedk and Chahriseh sections) form biostromes. The age of the coraly reefs ranged from Middle Devonian (Givetian)- Late Devonian (Famennian).
